With a Little Help from Our Friends

Just a little thank you to a couple of our awesome volunteer Mudslingers Jim and Joe, for coming out and doing some preventive maintenance on the platform mound this week.  As many of you know the Pueblo Grande Museum and site got a little messy after the storms last week, and we're still in the process of cleaning, repairing, and stabilizing, but that process has been made much smoother with help from people like the mudslingers and others.

This week, along side City Archaeologist Laurene Montero, Jim stabilized the base of the wall at the southeast corner of the mound, and Jim dug up the slope wash from within one of the rooms to clear out and expose the drain.  They also dumped backfill into a few of the many deep channels that formed in the backfilled sides of the mound.
